Freedom of Speech: A Privilege Not Everyone Has

Be very, very grateful for your freedom of speech — if you have it.

In Russia, if you call the “special military operation” a war, you risk 15 years of jail time.

In the west, cancel culture has become a powerful force.

Many people now self-censor in order to avoid negative consequences.

But it’s actually really hard to imagine not being able to use a word like “war” without risking jail time.

Do you think you would have the courage to post “Say No To War” on social media if using the word “war” could land you in jail for 15 years?
