Meet the Innovators: Investing in Puerto Rico’s Future

Jesse Randall has done the impossible: he’s giving average every day people a chance to be investors in professional venture capital funds which can invest in all kinds of startups and alternative assets. His platform is revolutionary and soon there will be many many venture funds managed by all kinds of amazing folks, that you can own a stake in.

I remember when Tim Draper and Steve Jurvetson tried to launch MeVC in the late 90s, with a similar vision. To the best of my memory it didn’t launch or didn’t work due to regulatory hassles.

Jesse overcame all those obstacles and has paved a way for potentially millions of people to own stakes in venture funds.

Spending days with him and Brian Bourgerie and enjoying the warmth and welcoming entrepreneurial community in Puerto Rico has been 🔥 both literally (80 degrees) and figuratively.

I’ll be making some Puerto Rico – related announcements in the coming weeks.

It’s a great place to do business, to find collaborators, and to remember there are still places on earth that are extremely hospital and kind with great culture and traditions (such as longest celebration of Christmas on the planet – and many other such endearing things.)

It’s been a pleasure spending time with you two — and all the other amazing people at the Sequire Investment Summit and at Invest Puerto Rico

There are few things as fun as meeting people in real life that you’ve only known online. Spending time with Brian Bourgerie from Invest Puerto Rico and Paul Ai Allen from Soar.com while I’m in Puerto Rico this week was awesome.

I’m sure many of you know each of them and the work they’re doing, but in case you don’t, here is a quick summary.

Brian has worked with Invest Puerto Rico for many years, which is the island’s economic development authority. He knows everything about the island’s awesome incentives and how to help companies succeed here. He’s also a long time crypto and blockchain enthusiast and has built many companies over the years. Using this incentive structure in Puerto Rico, he may have just created the most tax efficient entity in history. Impressive!

Paul is building a portfolio of AI driven companies underneath Soar.com and is making massive progress. He may be best known for founding Ancestry.com, but he’s tackling AI full throttle and is finding success. One of his current subsidiary companies called Citizen Portal is on track to record every document, brief, legislation, and meeting in every government jurisdiction and cross compare them with the federal and state constitutions as as well as each parties platforms. It then uses AI to summarize everything and inform citizens what their elected leaders are doing for them.

I couldn’t be happier to know these two amazing founders. Even better that we met in sunny and warm Puerto Rico during the coldest week of the winter so far. ☀️

Who have you met in real life recently. Maybe tag somebody that left an impact on you after you got to meet them!
