If you’ve never taken the CliftonStrengths assessment, you should really think about doing it.
It leads to amazing self-awareness (and when done right well-placed self-confidence) as well as deep other-awareness that is often lacking in teams and organizations.
For years I was officially the Global Strengths Evangelist. Now I’m just one of thousands of lowercase strengths evangelists.
I know of no psychometric assessment in the world that is more positive or accurate.
Some companies with hundreds of thousands of employees have everyone take it.
When implemented correctly, it improves employee engagement as well as bottom line business outcomes (revenue and profit growth) by creating more high performing teams.
Many colleges and universities have all incoming students take it.
Some, like University of Tennessee, Knoxville led by Donde Plowman and Dr. Amber Williams integrate it so beautifully into student development that re-enrollments and other student outcomes have hit all time highs!
And that against a cultural backdrop of anxiety, loneliness and despair!
This strengths philosophy, system and decision making tool needs to be adopted by hundreds of millions of people if we want to improve the world a lot.
I’ll continue to evangelize CliftonStrengths all over the world as long as I live.
This week I had many conversations about it in London where citizens from 72 countries gathered to create a hope-based narrative for the future against the current fear-based narratives that are inducing anxiety and despair in so many.
As I stay involved with the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC), you can bet that I’ll be telling thousand of people from scores of counties about this strengths-based approach to finding your talents and living your best possible in life.
Jordan Peterson is a genius at the Big Five assessment. It may be accurate, but it rarely provides the positive psychological lift that Dr. Don Clifton’s assessment does.
When I’m on his podcast imagine me interviewing him about his top five strengths, when he invited me on his show to discuss the future of AI.
He hasn’t invited me yet. But I’m just manifesting what could be given my #Futuristic strength.
In our most recent “Leading With Strengths” conversation, I chat with my friend, Paul Allen, the Founder of Ancestry.com and Soar.com. He leads with five CliftonStrengths®Strategic Thinking themes: Learner, Input, Ideation, Intellection, and Strategic.
Paul shares how he uses his top five to make better decisions and create better outcomes, and he reveals why he thinks strengths has the power to change the future of the world.
