Since I’ve been working on Citizen Portal — an AI platform that can help all US citizens stay informed — I’ve been thinking about the many freedoms, rights and privileges that I have — and also the responsibilities.

I’ve never served on a jury. I’ve been summoned before but the actual trial wasn’t held.

Some books I’ve read indicate that the vast majority of people who are incarcerated accepted a plea bargain. They forego their right to a jury trial for all kinds of reasons.

Prosecuting attorneys and defense attorneys seem to push in that direction almost always.
