How My Name Opened Doors: The Advantage of Being ‘Paul Allen’

I thanked my Mom many times for naming me “Paul Allen.”

As an entrepreneur, I consider my name a cheat code.

When I lived in Silicon Valley in 1999-2000 everyone returned my calls.

When I gave a keynote in Seattle in 1999, I had a standing room only crowd. I hope they weren’t too disappointed! 😉

Today I get to keynote an event in Austin on “Technology in Local Government.”

I’m excited to give a shout out to the OG Paul Allen for his amazing journey, his curiosity, his enthusiasm, and for asking so many times that powerful question: “what should exist?”

And then willing it into existence.
